Doherty tips the ball into Tierney (-1/-1), but his return header for Ceballos is easily cut out. Tierney gets dinged because he could have brought the ball down and kept possession. Doherty then beats Tierney for pace down the right before Luiz (+0.5) comes in to momentarily clear the danger with a sliding tackle.

Tough start for Tierney (-1/+0.5). Here Traore gets the better of him to cross to Jimenez, but Sokratis (+0.5) does just enough to put him off. Wolves come again: Jonny’s shoulder dip erases Chambers (-0.5) and opens the pass infield to Neves, who’s free because Ceballos (-1/-0.5) is slow to recognize. Both Guendouzi (-0.5) and Torreira (-0.5) press the ball leaving Jota free inside the box. He receives, then he passes to Doherty, who’s left uncovered again by Ceballos. Tierney and Luiz (+0.5) block the shot.

It takes nearly three minutes for Arsenal to get on the ball and Torreira (-1) gives it back almost immediately by missing Guendouzi on a seven yard pass. Wolves counter quickly, but Luiz (+0.5) delays Jimenez then blocks his pass.

Traore again beats Tierney (-1/+0.5) down the right and crosses. +0.5 since the cross went straight to Luiz.

Aubameyang’s (-1) pass misses Ozil by three yards straight out of bounds.

Arsenal have four in midfield and still no one within six yards of Jimenez as he drops deep to pick up the ball in midfield. He’s 50 yards away from goal so it’s not an immediate problem, but three passes later Wolves are at the Arsenal endline so it becomes one. It’s difficult to ding individual players because we don’t know what the instruction from Emery is, but certainly Guendouzi (-0.5) has run himself out of position.

Arsenal’s turn to counter now through Aubameyang (-0.5) and Guendouzi. The former carries the ball while the latter makes a lung-bursting run through the center of the field, but Aubameyang holds onto the ball too long and gets caught from behind. He eventually passes to Lacazette, who tries to play Ozil through the gap without realizing it’s Ozil and not literally anyone else.

Ceballos (+0.5) throws himself at Patricio’s goal kick knocking Doherty to the ground. No foul. The ball bounces to Tierney, who again has options inside but opts to smash into a defender and out for a throw. No minus because Arsenal retain possession.

50+ yard pass from Luiz (+1) to Aubameyang (+1) on the edge of the Wolves box. He holds the ball for a beat before zipping a cross into Ozil (-0.5) waist-high. Tough to control, but you’d hope he’d do better than letting it bounce off him.

Arsenal don’t even have that many bodies committed forward, and they’re still carved open with ease. Chambers (-1) loses Jota so badly that there’s half the field for Jimenez to lay the ball off into. Jota flicks over Luiz (-1) to put him and Jimenez into a 2v1, but Chambers races back to clatter him and give up the foul 25 yards from goal.

Ozil floating wherever he wants; this time deep. He passes to Guendouzi (-1), who tries to cut the ball back to him but instead kicks the ball straight at Jimenez. He drives into the Arsenal box but Luiz (+0.5) comes over in time to block the shot out for a corner. Wolves take it short, then Traore crosses over everyone.

Guendouzi (-1) picks up the ball from Tierney inside the Arsenal half and dribbles inside, nonchalantly attempting to pass to Ceballos but instead giving it straight to Jimenez.

More than 11 minutes pass before Arsenal have a sustained period of possession in the Wolves half, and Ozil (-1) wastes it by attempting to squeeze a pass into Ceballos despite him being covered by two defenders.

Aubameyang runs off the shoulder of Jonny, but Chambers (-1) doesn’t get enough power on his pass and the best Aubameyang can do is block the clearance out for a goal kick.

Neves tries a through ball into Jonny that should be easily dealt with. Instead, Sokratis (-1) let’s the ball get on top of him and can only kick straight up into the air. Chambers (-1) gets to the ball before it bounces out of bounds but despite having 15+ yards of space attempts a first time pass to Aubameyang that’s intercepted.

Aubameyang won’t ever be mistaken for a defensive stalwort so I sympathize with Torreira (-1) doubling teaming Moutinho. But in doing so, he eaves Jota free to receive the ball, which he does, and dribble at the Arsenal backline. Jota passes to Neves who shoots over from 30 yards.

Ceballos passes into Lacazette (-1/+1) on the edge of the Wolves box but he’s not strong enough to hold off Dendoncker’s tackle and nearly loses the ball for Arsenal. That they don’t is because Guendouzi (+1), and then Lacazette, put tackles in. Lacazette tries to take two players on back where the play started but loses the ball. Luiz commits the tactical foul.

Arsenal have no idea what to do when Guendouzi presses the ball. Here he presses Traore just inside the Arsenal half but Torreira (-1) fails to cover behind. The result is an easy pass into Jota who has time and space to turn. Luiz (+1) steps forward to put the tackle in.

Luiz (+1) is so good at the 40+ yard pass, but Arsenal haven’t gotten anything of substance out of them so far this season. Here he plays the ball over the top to Chambers (-1) down the right, but after he passes to Aubameyang (+1) and Aubayemang crosses for Lacazette, Ceballos has his shot blocked. Chambers picks the ball up, tries to go 1v1 with Jonny, and loses the ball.

Wolves play into Jimenez across midfield but Luiz (+0.5) forces him back to Chambers (+0.5) who kicks back to Sokratis as he’s retreating.

Guendouzi splits two Wolves defenders with a pass into Ozil, but his attempt to find Aubameyang rolls to Patricio. Aubameyang marginally dragged back, but probably wasn’t getting there regardless.

Jimenez drops deep again to receive the ball, drawing Sokratis out of position momentarily. Torreira (+0.5) snaps the tackle in, getting nutmegged in the process but doing enough to allow Ozil (+0.5) to slide in and pass back to Sokratis, who’s fouled.

Luiz (+1) takes the free kick quickly over the top to Aubameyang (+0.5), who lets the ball bounce once before taking a snap shot at Patricio’s that’s easily saved.

Chambers drops the ball back to Ozil (+1), who plays Lacazette (+1) in behind the Wolves defense on his first touch. Lacazette picks up the ball in the corner and finds Torreira (+1) inside the box, who fires it just wide. On replay you can see it was deflected.

Wolves clear the corner as far as Torreira, who passes wide right to Luiz (+1). Chambers (+0.5) times his run well to create space in the corner and Luiz finds him, but his cross is blocked out for a throw.

Chambers takes the throw quickly to Luiz (+1), who dribbles back towards the corner while Jonny and Jota switch off. His cross finds Lacazette (+1/+1), who holds off Coady and slots back to Aubameyang (+2), who passes the ball into the corner of the net. 1-0.

Guendouzi (+1) reads Dendoncker’s pass in midfield, first-timing the ball to Lacazette, getting it back, then earning a foul on the edge of the center circle.

Ozil (-1) understandably trying to impress; who knows the next time he’ll play in the Premier League? Here he tries to do too much, trying to squeeze the ball into Torreira despite there being two players between them. Side note: Arsenal have possessed the ball for 30+ seconds around the Wolves box, and Torreira finishes the move as the furthest forward Arsenal player.

Arsenal continue to struggle with the deep-dropping Jimenez. Torreira, bless him, sprints 70 yards to get back into position only for Chambers (-1) to allow Jonny’s pass to go through his legs. Sokratis (+0.5) gets a foot on Jota’s cross, tipping it to Ceballos (+0.5). His pass puts Tierney (+2) under pressure, but he gets out of it by full-volleying the ball 50 yards up to Aubameyang (-0.5). It’s a terrific ball that deserves better than Aubameyang letting it bounce off him out of bounds.

Arsenal win the ball back in their own end through Chambers (+0.5) and Ozil (+0.5) pressing Jota into a poor pass.

Chambers (-1) takes eight seconds to get the ball back in play, finally throwing it in straight to Saiss. He ends to Jota, but Sokratis (+1) kicks it off him to Lacazette (+1), who shields before being fouled.

Traore’s spent the past four years for bottom-side Premier League teams, and I don’t know why. He dribbles past Guendouzi (-1) here without so much as a dip of the shoulder, passing to Jota inside the Arsenal box. That Wolves don’t score is because Chambers (+0.5) bodies him at the last moment, allowing Leno to claim.

We haven’t seen this pass from Ceballos (+2) since Burnley, 35 yards over the top of Jonny into Chambers’ path to the point he doesn’t have to break stride. He cuts in and passes to Aubameyang, who’s stopped his run. No matter because Wolves make a mess of it, clearing off one another and straight to Torreira/Aubameyang. Unfortunately for Arsenal, Torreira, not Aubameyang, takes charge and shoots right at Patricio. Aubameyang picks up the rebound but shoots over.
25:30	Guendouzi	Defense	4-3-1-2	1-0
Wolves switch the play quickly to the right, and Jimenez checks back into midfield again. Tierney (-0.5) floats around in no-man’s land while Guendouzi (-0.5) presses on Traore, leaving him free to pick up the ball and dribble at the Arsenal back line. He passes wide to Jonny, but Chambers (+0.5) gets over in time to block the cross.

Jonny throws to Jota and gets the ball back, with Chambers (-1) getting over-eager thinking he can win the ball off him. Instead Jonny scoops the ball over his outstretched leg and Chambers commits the foul near the corner flag to prevent Jota from getting a cross off. Tierney (+0.5) clears the free kick to the edge of the box where Neves hits a dipping ball that goes about a foot over the crossbar.

Aubameyang’ (+1) isn’t a target forward, but he does his best impression here, cushioning Leno’s goal kick out of the air to Ozil, then getting it back and driving towards the Wolves box before crossing. Cleared.

Chambers throws Torreira (+1) down the line. He gets to the bouncing ball just before it crosses the endline and serves it into a dangerous area where Wolves clear, but right to Chambers. He tries to juggle over Moutinho and goes over rather weakly, but the ball falls to Ozil (+1), who holds the ball until space opens for Aubameyang, then plays him down the right to cross. He does, but it’s blocked out for a corner.

Ozil’s corner is cleared to Torreira (-1), but his attempted header back down the line is intercepted, nearly allowing Wolves to counter. Tierney (+1) gets to Moutinho’s flick on just before Jimenez to prevent it, then Lacazette (+1) nicks the ball off Neves and lays off to Chambers (+1), who plays a terrific ball over the top to Aubameyang. Offside.

Guendouzi (+0.5) wins Patricio’s free kick out of the air, a welcomed sight after his difficulties against Crystal Palace. Lacazette gets a head to the loose ball then Traore knocks it out of bounds.

Ceballos (+1) lays Tierney’s (-1) throw back to him, but his attempt at opening play up by passing to Luiz is blocked back to Wolves. Ceballos works hard to win the ball back.

Arsenal with a series of throw ins down by the right corner, which finally end when Chambers (+1) sends in a terrific cross that Dendoncker clears to Ceballos (+1). He takes two touches then passes to Lacazette (+0.5), who shoots low to Patricio’s right. Saved.

Arsenal should score more than they do off these fantastic passes from Luiz. Here he cuts the Wolves defense apart with a ball into Lacazette (+1), who lays off into Ozil. He passes left to Tierney, whose cross is just about cleared by Saiss. Chambers (-1) picks it up and tries to go 1v1 with Jonny, but has the ball kicked back off him for a goal kick.

Ceballos (+0.5/+1) forces Traore into a loose pass the Lacazette (+1) tackles, then gets it back and plays Ozil down the right channel. He cuts inside but doesn’t like what he sees and turns back to keep possession for Arsenal.

Arsenal possess the ball for over a minute before Tierney (-1) plays a hopeful ball over the top into the shortest player on the field and Wolves predictably clear.

Lovely from Lacazette (+1) to hold off two Wolves defenders to keep possession. Aubameyang’s (+1/+1) flick to get the ball too him wasn’t too bad either. Quick feet from Ceballos (+1) allow Arsenal to work the ball back to the left where Aubameyang crosses, and although it’s blocked, he tracks back well into midfield to slide tackle the ball back to Guendouzi.

Just when it looks like Arsenal might play their way out of the Wolves press Lacazette’s (-1) pass for Ozil goes behind Torreira.

Ozil (+0.5) tracks Traore nearly to the Arsenal endline, then Chambers (+0.5) gets a foot in first to clear Doherty’s cross.

Guendouzi (+0.5) clears Neves’ cross to Aubameyang (+1), who half-volleys to ahead only for Lacazette (-1) to give the ball away.

Are we dinging Torreira (-0.5/+1) for belatedly getting out on Jonny and allowing him to cut inside, or lauding his tackle to win possession back? A little of both. Guendouzi outlets to Lacazette (+1), who holds off Saiss and earns a foul.

Don’t love Guendouzi (+1) pressing the ball all the way on the sideline, but he blocks Jonny’s pass inside so [shoulder shrug emoji].

Arsenal’s midfield is a mess defensively, Torreira (-1) and Ceballos (-1) both press the ball and miss, leaving them behind the play. Ceballos is the left CM! The result is Ozil (-1/+1) running 50 yards back defensively. Good luck with that. Doherty beats him to Jota’s cutback and fires at Leno (+1). Saved. Ozil outworks Traore on the sideline and earns a foul.

Torreira (-1) again shifts too far over to the playside, leaving the crossfield pass open. Wolves recognize and work the ball to Jonny who carries the ball from inside his own half to the edge of the Arsenal box. They work it from left to right with Traore attempting to take Ceballos (+1) 1v1, but Ceballos tackles and prevents the ball from going out for a corner for good measure. He passes back to Luiz (-1) who kicks to no one.

Emery said after the game that the tactics worked how he wanted them to. I don’t know what he’s talking about. Here Ceballos (-0.5) can’t get out on Doherty in time and Guendouzi (-1/+0.5) is too loose on Jota initially, although he does get out to block the shot. The ball falls to Moutinho, whose shot is blocked by Sokratis (+1). Tierney’s (-1) header clear sends the ball instead back to the danger area, but Jimenez’s header goes weakly to Leno.

Chambers (-1/+0.5) gets bumped by Jota inside the box but does enough to put his shot off and it goes wide.

Sokratis (+0.5) plays an accurate long ball to Aubameyang, who can’t get the better of Doherty. Ceballos (-1) comes racing in but too quickly, and allows Doherty to skate past him. He tries to find Traore but Tierney (+0.5) is alert and kicks the ball upfield.

Arsenal slow to get up after winning the corner, which allows Neves to pick up the ball on the edge of the box and shoot, forcing a Leno (+1) save. Ozil (-0.5) the closer defender, so he gets dinged a half point, but really it’s a team issue. Tierney (+0.5) blocks the cross off the rebound.

Seven Arsenal players on-screen and none of them close enough to a Wolves player to put a tackle in. The result is Wolves advancing the ball into the Arsenal attacking third without any real difficulty. Torreira (-1) loses Jonny down the left, which could be forgiven since Chambers is there to provide cover, except Torreira then also loses Jota. The cross comes in to Jimenez; Luiz (+0.5) turns him back before Chambers and Sokratis converge to knock out for a corner.

He carries the ball to the edge of the Wolves box before back-heeling to Ozil, who passes to Lacazette at the penalty spot. He smashes so far over I was expecting to see a deflection on replay. There wasn’t a deflection.

Wolves have worked the ball into the Arsenal end with ease, but this is the first time Arsenal have returned the favor. Four passes advance the ball from midfield to the corner of the box, where Martinelli (+0.5) earns a corner by kicking it off Saiss. Chambers (+1) probably had the best pass of the lead up.

Leno hits the goal kick long only for Wolves to win it back immediately. Torreira (-1) has overstepped Jota, and Guendouzi (-1) doesn’t recognize Jimenez’s run quickly enough. Luiz comes over to apply final pressure but Jimenez is still able to get his shot off on Leno. Saved.

It’s honestly crazy how teams with considerably lower quality are so easily able to pick Arsenal apart. A single pass from left to right erases five Arsenal defenders, and while Saka (-1/+0.5) tries to get over in time, he overruns Jonny and gives up the 1-2 to allow Wolves to cross halfway. Jonny passes to Traore down the right channel but Tierney (+0.5) runs right with him and Saka tracks back heroically to double team. Traore gets the better of both to cross, but Chambers defends well to nick the ball of Moutinho and earns a foul for good measure.

Sokratis’ (-1) long ball to Saka is accurate, but there are no Arsenal players within 25 yards of him so it doesn’t matter. he can only head weakly forward and Wolves take over.

Jonny goes 1v1 at Tierney (+1) inside the box and loses, but Luiz’s clearance goes to nobody, because Arsenal have decided they’re going to set up shot defensively. And put Saka in for Torreira to help do so.

In a preview of what’s to come, Jonny throws the ball into Moutinho and gets it back, then Ceballos (-1) chases the ball even though Saka is well-positioned to defend. Moutinho and Jota now have Guendouzi (+1) in a 2v1, but he cuts the passing angle off and blocks the ball out for a throw in.

Saka passes to Tierney (+1) whose cross is blocked, but he wins the ball back in the air to Saka and Arsenal earn a corner.
